Cookies and browser storage
Information about settings stored by the personal site przemyslaw.wilde.pl.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by the browser on your device. Browser local and session storage, called localStorage and sessionStorage, can provide a similar function.
2. Preferred language
When you select a language or close the language suggestion, the site stores its own wilde-lang cookie. It contains only pl or en. This lets the site remember your choice and stops it from suggesting an automatic language change again. The cookie is valid for up to one year.
3. Selected theme
When you select the light or dark theme, the setting is stored in localStorage under the theme key. It stays there until you return to the system theme or delete site data in your browser. The setting is not sent to me.
4. Piorunek memory
Piorunek asks for consent before storing its memory. It does not store its own state until you choose an answer. The decision is stored under the wilde:zgody key, so Piorunek can remember your consent or respect your refusal.
After you agree, Piorunek may store settings and counters in localStorage. It uses them to limit repeated messages and adjust its hints. The current session may be stored in sessionStorage. This data stays in your browser and is not sent to me or another server.
You can delete the memory with the memory button in the Piorunek panel or by deleting site data in your browser. You can also switch Piorunek off.
5. Cloudflare and analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate visit statistics. It does not store cookies, localStorage or a lasting identifier in your browser. The site uses no advertising or analytics cookies.
Cloudflare may use a technical security mechanism, including a necessary cookie, when it needs to verify traffic or protect the site from abuse. This is not used for advertising or profiling.
6. Legal basis and consent
Storing information on or accessing it from a device is covered by Article 399 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law. The language cookie, theme setting and security mechanisms provide functions selected by the user or help deliver the site securely. Piorunek uses its optional memory only after separate consent in its panel.
The site does not need a general cookie consent banner because it uses no advertising or analytics cookies. If the way the site works changes, this assessment and policy will be updated.
7. How can I delete stored settings?
You can delete cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage data in your browser settings. This also removes the saved language, theme and Piorunek settings. Instructions:
This document may be updated. See the Privacy policy as well. I handle professional matters under the TECH.WILDE brand, which has a separate policy.
